Estimated Monthly PF
₹6,000
This is an indicative PF contribution estimate based on the wage, rates and ceiling you enter. Actual payroll treatment may differ depending on applicable PF rules, wage definitions and employer policy.
How is PF calculated?
A basic PF contribution estimate applies a contribution percentage to the wage amount used for PF purposes.
Employee PF estimate
Contributable PF Wage
× Employee Contribution Rate
= Estimated Employee Contribution
Employer contribution estimate
Contributable PF Wage
× Employer Contribution Rate
= Estimated Employer Contribution
PF calculation example
Assume PF wages of ₹25,000 per month, with employee and employer contribution rates of 12% and a ₹25,000 contributable-wage ceiling.
This example shows the combined contribution estimate only. The actual employer-side allocation may include pension or other statutory components.
What can affect PF contribution?
Frequently asked questions
What is PF?
Provident Fund is a retirement-oriented social security mechanism under which eligible employees and employers contribute amounts based on applicable PF wages and contribution rules.
What PF contribution rate does this calculator use?
The default calculator values use 12% for both employee and employer contribution estimates. The rates remain editable because different contribution rules can apply in specific cases.
What PF wage ceiling does this calculator use?
The default wage ceiling is ₹25,000 per month. You can change or disable the ceiling in the calculator when estimating a different contribution arrangement.
Is the employer's full contribution deposited only into EPF?
Not necessarily. The employer contribution can be allocated between provident fund and pension components depending on applicable EPF and EPS rules. This calculator currently shows the combined employer-side contribution estimate rather than performing a detailed EPF/EPS split.
Can PF be contributed on wages above the ceiling?
In some circumstances contributions may be made on higher wages, subject to applicable EPF rules and employer-employee arrangements. The calculator therefore allows the wage ceiling to be disabled.
Is this calculator suitable for payroll processing?
It is intended for quick estimates and educational use. Actual payroll PF calculations should follow current EPFO rules, employee eligibility, wage definitions and the organization's configured payroll policy.
