Attendance details
Enter working days and present days.
Attendance Percentage
90.91%
Attendance percentage is calculated by dividing present days by total working days and multiplying the result by 100.
How to calculate attendance percentage
Attendance percentage shows how much of a defined working period was attended. You need two values: total working days and the number of days marked present.
Attendance percentage formula
Present Days
÷ Total Working Days
× 100
= Attendance Percentage
Attendance calculation example
Suppose there are 22 working days in a month and an employee was present for 20 days.
The calculation is 20 ÷ 22 × 100, resulting in approximately 90.91% attendance.
How many days are needed to reach a target?
If your current attendance is below a required target, simply adding the difference between the two percentages is not enough. Every future attended day increases both your present-day count and your total working-day count.
Example
If you have attended 70 out of 100 working days, your current attendance is 70%. To reach 75% by attending every future working day, you need 20 additional present days.
90 ÷ 120 × 100 = 75%
What can affect official attendance?
Frequently asked questions
How is attendance percentage calculated?
Attendance percentage is calculated by dividing the number of present days by the total number of working days and multiplying the result by 100.
What is the attendance percentage formula?
Attendance Percentage = Present Days ÷ Total Working Days × 100.
Can this calculator show how many days I need to reach a target?
Yes. If your current percentage is below the selected target, the calculator estimates how many additional working days you would need to attend without another absence to reach that target.
Why does the total working day count change when calculating future attendance?
Future attendance adds both present days and working days. For example, attending one more day changes 70 present days out of 100 working days to 71 present days out of 101 working days.
Can I calculate 100% attendance after an absence?
No. Once an absence exists in the same continuing attendance period, adding more present days can move the percentage closer to 100%, but it cannot mathematically become exactly 100%.
Can HR teams use this calculator?
Yes. It can be used for quick attendance estimates, but official employee attendance should be calculated from the organization's configured attendance records and policies.
